The Exciting NVIDIA Technologies Powering Modern Gaming

Gaming moves quickly. The technologies that power gaming move even quicker. With both major graphics companies introducing new hardware, software, and features with each year, and other companies looking at the graphics market, it can be challenging to keep up with what’s happening.   ASUS provides a number of graphics options for work, play, acceleration, and more. Our range of NVIDIA-based products offer the latest and greatest technologies that NVIDIA has produced, and unlocks a range of exciting new tools and opportunities for those looking to play, stream, create, or work smart.

DLSS: 2.3 and Counting

Deep Learning Super Sampling, an AI-based technology that uses NVIDIA’s Tensor Cores to intelligently boost frame-rates with very minor or no discernible graphical impacts, continues to impress. DLSS 2.3 released in November, bringing with it even more impressive rendering and reduced ghosting in motion. The technology since its inception has enabled gamers to enjoy smoother graphics, seamless gameplay, and improved graphical fidelity, reducing shimmering, aliasing, and more. Learn more about DLSS and the recent 2.3 update here.

NVIDIA: Image Scaling

Similar to DLSS, NVIDIA’s Image Scaling can boost frame rates by rendering a game at a lower resolution, upscaling it to your display resolution. It’s not limited to DLSS-supported graphics cards from the RTX range, and can be used across all of your games, as it doesn’t require specific integration or support by game developers. It’s easy to activate, and is just one more way gamers can upscale their games, enjoying smoother, more seamless experiences. Learn more about NVIDIA Image Scaling and how to enable it here.

NVIDIA Reflex

NVIDIA Reflex joins the previous two technologies in ensuring games run smoothly. Focused on an esports audience that simply demand seamless, high framerate experiences, Reflex reduces system latency – the time between entering an input via a keyboard or mouse and the action being displayed on-screen – by eliminating the GPU render queue and pressure by the CPU in particularly intensive moments of gameplay. Looking at NVIDIA’s comparisons of using Reflex, we can see improvements in games like Rainbow Six: Siege and Overwatch, reducing latency from 31 to 8ms and 56 to 9ms, respectively. For esports gamers, where every frame and second count, improvements like this can mean the difference between winning and losing.

NVIDIA Broadcast: AI Noise Cancelling and More

NVIDIA Broadcast software transforms an in-home setup into a broadcasting studio for gamers and content creators. AI based technologies in the app include Noise and Echo Removal, which intelligently identifies and removes unwanted background noise with one click of a button, and Virtual Background; an AI-based approach to identifying the streamer or subject of the video, and rendering out their background and replacing it with greenscreen effects (perfect for streamers looking to move away from a camera square in the corner to a more natural camera insert). Beyond those, users will find Auto-Frame – which tracks the subject in a video or stream smartly around the frame, even if they’re moving around – and Video Noise Removal; enhance the quality of your webcam and remove the low-light noise that often disrupts quality broadcasts. It’s easy to use, and provides a suite of technologies to enhance a content creator’s streams, videos, and more. Learn more about the NVIDIA Broadcast App here.

NVIDIA Studio: AI-Powered Acceleration

Where NVIDIA Broadcast targets streamers and entertainers, NVIDIA Studio brings the power of NVIDIA hardware to content creators working on a range of projects, including video editing, photography, 3D and rendering, graphic design, and more. Improving export and rendering times across popular software applications, enhancing photos with more than thirty GPU-accelerated effects, including AI features, and more, NVIDIA Studio puts all the power of AI-enhanced graphics at user’s fingertips. NVIDIA Ansel

Finally, NVIDIA Ansel rounds out the offering, enabling players a revolutionary way to capture in-game screenshots. Pause the action, compose the scene, and take stunning HDR imagery that can be post-procesed, and even experienced using mobile and virtual reality devices. What makes Ansel so unique is the ability for players to take screenshots and in-game photographs from any angle and in full 3D. More than 40 games currently support Ansel, and the list continues to grow.
